She was employed as a litigation paralegal at prominent national law firms for thirty-eight years, where she developed expertise in legal writing and research. She is a professional researcher focusing on family histories with over twenty-five years of experience. She became the editor of the Afro-American Genealogy Group ("AAGG") Newsletter. In addition to editing stories, she wrote articles on writing tips and transformed the content to document the historical stories of its members.
She utilized her professional research skills to investigate the historical events in the community that led to the formation of the Media Pennsylvania chapter of the NAACP. She has been a research historian for over twenty-five years and has published several articles. She was recognized for her contributions to indexing over 3,000 records for the Freedmen's Bureau project for Family Search. She is a member of the Authors Guild and the Biography International Organization. In addition, she has completed numerous writing courses.
Her current projects include writing biographies about the charter members of the Philadelphia Heritage Chapter for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), an organization that began in 1927. Her writings focus on Women and African American Studies.
